Are there any tips or guidelines for travel board photos?

Travel boards are here to help inspire and collect travel ideas and here are three simple guidelines to follow to ensure the quality of the Trippy travel boards community:

  • Always credit the photo's original source

Because it's the right thing to do and Trippy makes it easy! Here's how: simply use our bookmarklet on the original source of the photo versus a secondary source. For example, it's best to add photos directly from a blog instead of from a Google image search. That way Trippy can pick up the original link and accurately and automatically credit the correct source.

  • Be specific when you add photos

See a gorgeous photo of the Eiffel Tower as you're surfing the web? Instead of typing "Paris, France" when you add it to your board, type in "Eiffel Tower" specifically. Adding specific spots will allow you to add so many more places and travel inspiration to your boards. Makes a lot more sense when the photos show up around the site too!

  • Pick beautiful & awesome photos

As a general rule of thumb, try to avoid photos with text or watermarks on them. Other than that, beauty and awesomeness are in the eye of the beholder, so choose visually rich and inspiring images that inspire you to travel!
